Bryce Hill. Iconic for its view of Mount Mansfield as you descend the East side of the hill, it also offers this captivating view of Juniors Farm as you ascend up Bryce Hill Road from the West.
I've had this on my "to paint" list now for several years. I often envisioned it as a much larger painting. However some compositions just seem to lend themselves to a smaller format and this simple scene finally told me to scale down and create this gem.
The challenge here was to capture that feeling of heading up the hill to the farm cresting the top. I had to move the road over the the left to make the composition work but this turns out to be one of my favorite small works.
