There are two iconic views on the Northeast side of Mount Mansfield from Cambridge Vermont. One is up high on Bryce Hill Road, the other in the valley on Lower Pleasant Valley Road. Every artist who visits the region seems to paint one if not both of these views. I resisted painting either for several years, simply because it was done already by so many. But the views are just too good to resist.
I really like this view from the valley in winter. On a cold crisp day the blue from the sky fills the shadows and reflects off the snow. The bright pop of red of the old Porter Farm adds a nice element and the river pulls you in.
