My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageThe assemblage fuses a coded plea with the stark symbol of a hanger, collapsing past and present. By invoking the Jane Collective’s clandestine care network of 1969–73, the work recalls a history of underground support shaped in response to criminalized abortion.
Layered frames read as legal enclosures, while the hanger functions as both a threat and a testimony, an object that signals how restricted reproductive rights reintroduce conditions that activists once sought to dismantle.
