My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageThis work stages policy as ornament. A floral, domestic backdrop and gilt frame soften the violence embedded in the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” whose cheerful title masks a top tax rate engineered to favor the wealthy, shield large inheritances, and reward high-income households.
The decorative presentation echoes the way austerity is sold as the norm while access to medical care, food, education, and green energy is cut back. By embedding these consequences within a quaint, archival aesthetic, the piece exposes how economic harm is bureaucratized, prettified, and rendered distant while deepening deficits and hollowing out shared public resources.
