My art practice challenges social and linguistic constructs in the United States through precisely crafted artworks organized into collections.
MessageThis framed medal turns the language of honor into a pointed critique of political spectacle. Its polished, ceremonial presentation contrasts sharply with the text describing the posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded to a figure known for attacking LGBTQ rights, rejecting D.E.I., and promoting rhetoric widely condemned as racist, antisemitic, and anti-Muslim.
By isolating the medal in a pristine, almost devotional frame, the artwork exposes how state symbols can sanitize harmful ideologies. The piece asks us to confront the gap between the visual performance of virtue and the troubling beliefs being elevated—challenging the viewer to reconsider what, and whom, a nation chooses to honor.
