This sunrise offered a soft awakening with its gentle motion and rich color. The deep gray violets of these moisture laden clouds anchors the white-capped cumulus. Sometimes, a painting doesn't need activity added beyond the initial inspiration, and while this is a fully developed painting, I opted to make this one all about the sky.

Imagine opening your eyes and this is all you see out your window. A scrap of sky. Take a deep breath: the day is new.
