MessageLowdermilk, a public beachfront park in Naples, Florida is usually a very busy place. It has a wonderful little duck pond and concession stand besides the amazing white sand beach. I arrived early before the crowds and selected my painting location knowing that it would be hot and crowded later on. The Florida sun is very intense so I tucked myself in the shade to the side of a boardwalk. My view from this spot suggested a path leading to the near empty beach. When I began painting, I could only see two people and that sounded like a perfect vacation or day of rest. In 'Chillin' 12x16 oil, I was striving to express my feelings about the relaxation part of spending time on a Florida beach.
