Oil on linen

"The Beekeepers" is a painting in oil on linen that I created to honor a beekeeping friend and represent regional sustainability practices. It shows two women beekeepers, fully suited, working on their hives in a field of mustard flowers. The hives were placed there to help pollinate the mustard seed crop. Their calm demeanor and gentle handling of the bees seems to keep them calm and speaks to the symbiotic relationship between the bees and the beekeepers. It is a vision of Oregon agricultural beauty and sustainability.
