When it Rains...
Oil on canvas
The depiction of nature has concerned artists since the beginning of artistic creation. How do we connect and reconnect with nature according to what we can see and what is outside of our realm of vision, the micro and macroscopic world, how nature is perceived in our dreams, how is distorted by rain, fire, mist, how all life is happening in front of the beholder. This is a showing to see nature as if it is perceived by a child playing outside in the rain when all is muddy, when all life is drinking and thriving in the backyard. If you pay attention and look closely, nature doesn’t ever leave you alone; it's always there, humming, chanting, growing. In the middle of it, I introduce the great practitioners of the attentive gaze. My primeval beings, ghosts of my past and present, act like a child who takes their first look at the world. Outside, in the backyard, there is a seed of dwellers.
They are outside and inside of themselves, nothing separates them from their surroundings. Curious glances question viewers while inviting them to be part of this moment of overwhelming life. In my world, death and life are coming together, silence and sound coincide, everything and nothing is happening.
"When you talk about ghosts naturally, you play with the idea of guessing how they are dressed, each stain is a possibility."
