This piece portrays an attempt at carrying on, despite being unable to contain feelings of deep loneliness, heart break and despair. The subject (Mr. Happy's) inner tortured soul is radiating outwards. A heart that has been broken and poorly mended many times over comes out from the background to his left. His libido, appearing ghost-like looms over his shoulder, appearing to be interested in what this solitary man is working on. On the smoky barbecue, burgers and a bone are cooked to perfection, in no way suggesting the hopelessness Mr. Happy is truly feeling. Completed 3/06/2022 18" X 15"
