Glutton: “Habitual green or excess in consumption” Gluttony, one of the seven deadly sins, has its dark roots in many of us nowadays. Depicted in this piece is a figure who has traveled a long way down the road of gluttony. Sat alone at a bar with the all too familiar bottle, this piece is intended to capture the dark side of too much of a good thing. It is all too easy in life to take the cop-out road, the path of pleasure and minimal resistance. I believe this route to be tantamount to an unrewarding, uninspiring life, despite the allure of living easily. It is my firm belief that the “harder route,” or the path of strong discipline leads to a much more rewarding and fulfilling end, despite it being much more challenging and enduring. *The Glutton was inspired by a real person i chose not to disclose here*
