For residency applicants:
The Wassaic Project accepts 3 – 6 month proposals for our Winter Residency program (November 2021 – April 2022). This call is individual artists, collaborative teams, and groups of 2 or more individual artists opting to live together. The residency fee is $1,600 per month PER GROUP/TEAM, which includes: semi-private studio space(s), a private 4 bedroom house (all utilities included), access to our Wood Shop and kiln, staff support, and programming such as our Visiting Artist program (Zoom studio visits) and Virtual Open Studios.

For FAMILY residency applicants:
The Wassaic Project is accepting proposals for our FAMILY Winter Residency program (November 2021 – April 2022) for artists, writers, curators, filmmakers, and other creatives and their families. Residencies are 1 – 8 weeks in length and Family residents are considered full participants in our residency program. This call is specifically for FAMILY residents and the residency fee is $1,600 per month per family, which includes: semi-private studio space(s), a private 4 bedroom house (all utilities included), access to our Wood Shop and kiln, staff support, and programming such as our Visiting Artist program (Zoom studio visits) and Virtual Open Studios.

Our Work and Family Fellowship offers no-fee residencies and $500 honorariums to several family residents per year. If you are interested, there is a single question to answer in the application. Please take some time to reflect on the ways in which care and caregiving, whatever those words mean to you, come through (or might come through) in your work. It’s okay if this isn’t something you’ve considered before. We think of this Fellowship as a starting point towards building a future where artists shape the way society sees and values care.

Applications are run through our SlideRoom portal. Notification of acceptance will occur within 90 days of the application due date. Accepted applicants will have 7 days to commit to attending the residency. After confirmation, resident’s security deposit and contract are due.
