The Maryland State Arts Council, has issued Request for Qualifications (no artwork proposals) for two new public art commission opportunities on Maryland campuses. Bowie State University is Maryland's oldest Historically Black University located outside Washington, DC. The public art project is proposed for the new Martin Luther King Jr. Communication Arts & Humanities Building and the budget is $515,000. St. Mary's College of Maryland is a National Public Honors College located in southern Maryland on a beautiful historic campus and the proposed public artwork is for the new Academic Building and Auditorium, and the budget $250,000. Both campus projects offer both interior and/or exterior opportunities for integrated public art.
