The Space:
Ice Cream Social is an art studios and exhibition space in Port Chester, NY. The 3,000 sq ft experimental exhibition space has natural light filtering in through a wall of windows. Concrete floors, 12 ft ceilings with exposed I-beams. Work can easily be suspended from the ceiling beams if needed. The cage walls are sometimes used in exhibitions to create translucent divisions in the space. The cage walls are 8 ft tall. Though the long exterior wall is cinder block and cannot be screwed into, there are multiple large walls inside the space that can be used to hang work. Work involving sound must use headphones, since there are active studio spaces near the exhibition area. Proposals may be site specific to utilize the cage walls, open, light-filled, industrial environment.
