Center424 is hosting its first annual art contest!
Center424 is a creative exchange space dedicated to cultural cooperation, sharing practices, and giving artists space to share their work in our gallery space in Belgrade, Serbia.
We want to extend opportunities for new, emerging, and student artists around the world to come and stay in Belgrade and be exposed to the phenomenal culture while exposing your work to new communities.

DETAILS:
• THEME: Spirituality
• SUBMISSION FEE: $35.00 for 5 images
WHY A FEE?: We are a nonprofit organization and need to cover the cost of the gallery space, installation of art, the cost of the room for the winner to stay, and pay our judges for taking the time to look at each application.
• DEADLINE: All five images must be submitted by July 31st, 2022
• WHO CAN APPLY: Any emerging artist over the age of 18
PRIZES:
1st place
• A solo exhibition at the Center 424 gallery in Belgrade, Serbia (the winner will work with the director of Center424 Gordana Zikic, to determine when the exhibition will take place to fit the gallery’s schedule and the winner’s schedule).
• An artist interview published on Center 424, The Emerging Art Guide, and Belgrade Artist in Residence’s social media pages
• Room fully paid for, for 1 week
** You must have the ability to get to Belgrade for this (If in the US, you will need a passport to travel out of the country, and depending on where you fly out of, round trip flights range between 900 and 2000 dollars).
If you are an artist who has financial difficulties, please still apply – there may be opportunities to help.
• You will need to transport your art (USPS and UPS have art shipping)
• A podcast interview with The Emerging Art Guide
• Two weeks of coaching from Kayla Griffin, CEO of the emerging art guide, to help you with your professional art goals.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUBMIT
1. Images: 5 of your best pieces of work that fit the theme

MEET YOUR JUDGES:
• GORDANA ZIKIC:
Gordana Zikic is an interdisciplinary artist, director of Center 424 nonprofit an artist-run organization, co-founder and artist coordinator at Belgrade Artist in Residence.
She completed her Ph.D. in Arts in 2018 at the University of Arts, Faculty of Fine arts, Belgrade, Serbia and exhibits internationally.
She is a shamanic artist, studying and incorporating traditions and innovations in shamanism, both ancestral and contemporary.
• BOSKO BEGOVIC
Bosko Begovic, conceptual artist, writer and martial artist. Co-founder of non-profit organization Center424, Belgrade Artist in residence and Martial Artist in Residence in Belgrade, Serbia. Holds Aikido 4 Dan AikiKai Hombu Dojo / Judo 4 Dan / Tatami Ryu Aiki Jutsu 5 Dan.
• KAYLA GRIFFIN
Kayla Griffin is an Art Instructor at Weber State University and the CEO of the Emerging Art Guide. She helps coach new, emerging, and student artists on how to make a business from their art. She has had multiple exhibitions all over the United States and will be traveling to Serbia sometime in 2023.
Kayla looks for art that can have multiple meanings, layered meanings, or tells a strong narrative.
