specifically: any of numerous organic, synthetic or processed materials that are mostly thermoplastic or thermosetting polymers of high molecular weight and that can be made into objects, films, or filaments.

You know it, you can’t get away from it, but for this year’s Anything But… exhibition, we’re saying no to plastic! Acrylic paint? Get outta here! Try some homemade egg tempera! Nylon thread? No way! We suggest ethically raising and shearing a herd of sheep and spinning your own wool.*  Modge Podge? Nahhhhh, you gotta get into wheatpaste. 

Riverside wants YOU to show us how you art with materials that are free of thermosetting polymers of high molecular weight that can be made into objects, films, or filaments. Are you up for the challenge?!

* If you can’t grow your own wool, purchased wool is acceptable. (You don’t need to make your materials; you can acquire them however you want, so long as they remain plastic-free.)
