The Inbreak Residency is a co-learning and making environment that promotes a collective exploration of the intersections of art, faith, and race in the United States. This virtual residency is for artists of any medium who are looking for a collaborative environment to generate community-focused projects, who are seeking the next step in their artistic development, and/or who want to grow in the area of creative leadership.
RESIDENCY DURATION
Over the course of three months, residents engage in a virtual program that includes ten group workshops, two group feedback sessions, two 1:1 studio visits, and a curriculum featuring a curated selection of viewings, readings, and dialogue prompts. Residents gather once a week for twelve consecutive weeks from January through March.
EXHIBITION
The residency culminates in a live or virtual exhibition. Residency projects are due in April, and the culminating exhibition opens in May. Generally, residency exhibitions run through the end of June.
LOCATION
This residency takes places online, though there may be in-person exhibition opportunities available post-residency.
RESIDENCY STIPENDS
There is no fee to participate in the residency, and each artist will receive a $500 stipend.
HOW TO APPLY
There are four residency spots available each year. Artists of any medium may apply, though we are currently only accepting applications from artists living within the United States.
