Artist applications are now open for the largest annual exhibit of public sculptures in the world - SculptureWalk Sioux Falls, May 2024 - April 2025 in Downtown Sioux Falls, SD. $1,500 Stipend, Travel. Professional and amateur sculptors of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply to be part of the 2024 exhibit, which will be the organization's 21st year of bringing art to the people. This open call invites artists working within tech that focuses on decolonization, reframing history, language, care, the digital divide, and the future of tech to participate in a six-month program. Selected artists receive a $20,000 stipend.

Taking place every two years, the Open Exhibition is the biggest celebration of Greater Manchester’s creative talent. Between Saturday, 3 February and Sunday, 28 Apr 2024, the HOME Gallery walls will be filled with work created by you, selected by a panel consisting of art experts and community representatives.

Three artists will be awarded with artist development packages managed by Castlefield Gallery and HOME. In addition, a fourth artist will receive the HOME award for a solo exhibition in HOME’s Granada Foundation Galleries, which will include in kind support and one-to-one mentoring.

The residency program is self directed, multi-disciplinary and open to most creative directions. The purpose of the program is to provide emerging and established creatives from all fields an opportunity to focus on their work in an environment well equipped for experimentation and the production of artistic output.
Our Centre is a place to meet with other creative people in a warm collaborative community. We offer a shared studio space (95 m2). The studio spaces function as a “home base” for the artists and from there they can work on their creative projects in various facilities and workshops. The Centre has wood-, metal-, ceramic- and print workshops as well as a kitchen, small library, and a concert hall.

Skaftfell Art Center offers an international self-directed artist-in-residence program in Seyðisfjörður, a small fishing village located in the East Fjords of Iceland. The residency program’s remote setting provides artists the opportunity to work in relative seclusion in a place of extraordinary natural beauty that is also home to an international community of working artists. The residency offers space for contemplation, productivity, and collaboration and is ideal for artistic research and experimentation.

Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center

Any materials used in your installation cannot be flammable or disruptive, and low-waste, eco-friendly practices are encouraged.

PrintAustin is excited to announce the open call for its 11th annual juried international exhibition, The Contemporary Print. Presented in collaboration with ICOSA, this year’s exhibition will be juried by Mark Pascale, the Janet and Craig Duchossois Curator in the Department of Prints and Drawings at The Art Institute of Chicago and Senior Lecturer in Print Media at the School of the Art Institute.

The Contemporary Print is a survey of traditional printmaking techniques and innovative approaches in contemporary printmaking. While non-traditional or digital output is accepted as a print element, submissions must utilize traditional print media as their primary technique. These include lithography, relief, intaglio, silkscreen, photopolymer plate (i.e. SolarPlates), and monotype.

Kahilu Exhibits, located in the galleries at Kahilu Theatre in Waimea (Kamuela) on Hawai'i Island, is seeking proposals for our Simperman and Hāmākua Galleries for the 2024 calendar year. An 11-member selection panel of community representatives, arts and design experts, and civic leaders has been has been assembled to identify art opportunities and to select and recommend an artist or artist team for this project. The artwork should embody the spirit, bravery and courage of Private Joe Pantillion Martínez. The committee has identified the Joe P. Martínez Memorial Plaza as a possible site for public art, with a total allocated budget of approximately $100,000.00 USD.

The City of Sparks Arts and Culture Advisory Committee (ACAC) invites you to submit your portfolio to be eligible for a $125,000 public art sculpture commission to be installed on Victorian Avenue in Sparks, NV. This opportunity is open to artists/artist teams who are at least 18 years of age and living and working in the United States.

The 528.0 Regional Juried Printmaking Exhibition is open to artists residing within a 528.0 mile radius of Denver, Colorado. This exhibition seeks to celebrate the expansive diversity of contemporary printmaking found within this western region and aims to highlight both traditional and alternative printmaking methods being used in the field of contemporary printmaking. The 528.0 Regional Juried Printmaking Exhibition is sponsored by the Invisible Museum and will be hosted in the Main Gallery at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities in Arvada, Colorado. Embracing Our Differences is seeking submissions for an outdoor juried art exhibit featuring 50 billboard size images created by local, national and international artists. The display reflects the artists' interpretations of the theme "enriching lives through diversity." The exhibit will be on display January 21 through April 14, 2024 in two locations in Sarasota and Pinellas counties in Florida. The winning artworks combine a deep understanding of both medium and message. Awards are given for "Best-in-Show Adult," "Best-in-Show Student," and "People's Choice" categories, with the last chosen by exhibit visitors to each location. This residency is an opportunity for international artists to stay and work in Lisbon for one to six months. The Euroatla residency is an independent artist space meant for self-sufficient artists looking for a place of reflection away from their usual environment. Euroatla has two formats of residency to choose from. The first is an independent residency solely based at Euroatla while the other is done in partnership with Hangar, which includes an open day and curatorial support.
Outside of ordinary constraints such as day jobs, commissions and exhibition deadlines, residencies offer artists the time, space and resources to experiment with their work and try new approaches. By connecting with Lisbon’s art scene and being in a new context artists can take away new ideas and viewpoints that will benefit the development of their practice.

San Gabriel Storage Owner, LLC, is seeking applications from professional Artists and Artist Teams to create an original, permanent work of public art, “Perforated Image Walls,” to be installed in the San Gabriel Artists & Makers Studios complex. This work of art, made of four large wall sections of perforated metal, two on the West elevation and two on the East elevation of the building, will be fabricated and installed by our Contractors.

The Underwater Museum of Art (UMA), the first permanent underwater sculpture museum in the United States and 2023 CODAaward winner for Collaboration of the Year, calls for artists to create design proposals for original sculpture that will become part of a permanent exhibition and artificial reef system on the floor of the Gulf of Mexico. The Texas Tech University System seeks to commission a professional artist to create site-specific exterior sculpture(s) or installation to be placed at Bolin Hall, on the Midwestern State University campus, located in Wichita Falls, TX. The artist has the option to present a concept for either an interior or exterior piece. Construction of the facility will be completed by July 2025.

The art in either location will greet visitors as they arrive at Bolin Hall and should help to “activate” that area by creating a welcoming and innovative space. Ideal submissions should consider technology to create an interactive and eye-catching piece. Bolin Hall houses the science and math departments for Midwestern State University, including geosciences, computer science, mathematics, biology, and chemistry. The public art should serve to enhance the building from multiple points of view. Applying artists should keep in mind the various academic disciplines that are housed in this building.

The outdoor space should encourage gathering, communication, and occupation of exterior spaces by students, and public art at this location has an opportunity to contribute significantly to these goals (see image attachments). Ideal submissions should incorporate multiple elements in the space. Water features are highly discouraged, but the selected artist will have an opportunity to collaborate with landscape architects for the project.

The interior lobby area should welcome students as they enter the building. Public art at this location should aid in contributing to this goal. Ideal submissions should consider either digital or hanging elements within the lobby space (see image attachments).

Among relevant concepts to consider are metamorphosis, catalyst, collaboration, inquiry, rigor, structure, curiosity, active learning, and transformative. This will be a multi-disciplinary facility, so public art needs to have broad appeal. Any concepts that may be considered polemic or political should be avoided. Artists should attempt to create a design that speaks to the diversity of learning that takes place in a facility such as Bolin Hall.

The Art in State Buildings Program at the University of Florida will commission an artist or artist team to create a site-specific work of art for the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Studies in St. Augustine, FL. KUNSTRAUM is a community of artists for artists that aims to redefine the collaboration between artists and curators. For the 2023-24 Curator-in-Residence, we are seeking a freelance curator with an innovative and ambitious vision who thrives on bringing their own concepts, creative freedom, and voice to the KUNSTRAUM gallery, and who is interested in working in an established artist-run gallery. CIR’s mission is to bring a unique curatorial perspective to the program in order to promote their curatorial practice to the New York art world by organizing engaging exhibitions and events.
The CIR’s role is to lead KUNSTRAUM’s programming for a consultancy period of 12 months. During the residency, they have the opportunity to present their independent position through three curated exhibitions – KUNSTRAUM’s annual Open Call exhibition and the annual Members’ Exhibition, followed by the CIR Show – an exhibition of their own. In addition, CIR supports projects by guest curators with the help of the KUNSTRAUM team. A budget of $5000 is provided for CIR’s exhibition. The CIR is expected to leverage existing relationships with the press, foundations, art fairs, curators, and collectors to provide additional support and resources for the CIR exhibition. The annual KUNSTRAUM Open Call and Member’s Exhibition will be held in the KUNSTRAUM gallery space in Brooklyn. The CIR’s independent exhibition will be held in the Brooklyn space and at an additional Manhattan venue, using their own resources to find a venue for the exhibition, or they can reach out to Manhattan venues with an existing relationship with KUNSTRAUM – the next CIR show will be held at a LES gallery.

#CreateCOP28 is an open call for art that generates conversations around the urgent need for climate justice and raises awareness of the issues that must be considered at the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2023 (UNFCCC COP28).

The competition is open to anyone between the ages of 14-30.

CreateCOP28 invites creatives of all nationalities, races, genders and faiths, aged 14-30 to submit work that generates conversations around the urgent need for climate action and raises awareness of the issues that must be considered at COP28, the United Nations’ annual climate summit.

In a five-year effort, she rehabilitated and updated this spacious eighteenth-century, four-story stone residence in the village of Ménerbes. Her goal was to make it a retreat for scholars, artists, and writers, where they could work undisturbed on their research, art, or writing, for one to two months.
Here outstanding mid-career professionals are offered fellowships that enable them to reside in the Dora Maar House and focus on the creative aspects of their work.

6th Street Studios & Art Center is celebrating veterans in our 2nd annual online and in-person Veteran's exhibition. Local artists and families of veterans are welcome to submit works to be displayed in our physical location, while out-of-region artists can submit for the online show. Heron Sculpture for the Phinizy Center for Water Sciences
The Greater Augusta Arts Council, on behalf of the Phinizy Center for Water Sciences, is requesting proposals from qualified sculptors or artist teams to create a unique, durable, low-maintenance, safe to touch, larger-than-life-sized sculpture of a heron (or group of herons) to be placed on the grounds of the Phinizy Center.
The sculpture is intended to last for 50 years minimum in good condition, and to be a realistic representation of a heron(s). Phinizy is home to many herons, egrets and other birds throughout the year, as well as devoted bird-watchers, so ensuring that the sculpture resembles an actual heron is ideal.
Selected artists will receive a stipend of $15.000 to cover all expenses associated with the envisioning, creation, transport and installation of the sculpture, and any and all other expenses the artist might encounter.

Amplify is a contest designed to celebrate the most impactful works related to environmental themes. This contest is open to anyone who has created work focusing on the environment. We are less concerned with the medium of the work submitted and more interested in its impact. We believe a piece of art, theatre, poetry, sculpture, game, and all types of mediums can all sit side-by-side in making positive change.

Valley Metro is seeking to hire up to eight Public Artists for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Capitol Extension. There is No Theme for this art competition so any subject matter and any media are acceptable for consideration. Artists (including photography & digital arts) are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art.

The #1 overall top winning artist will be the Best in Show winner of the exhibition. The Best in Show winner will receive a cash prize of $100. Winners receive extensive worldwide publicity and promotion.

Small Expressions, now in its 22nd year, is a juried small works exhibit designed to encourage art buying for the gift-giving season. Small Expressions is open to all media. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant, and executed within the last three years. No work shall exceed 16” in any direction, including frame and mount. Open to all media, including jewelry. Artwork will be juried in person and then exhibited at Northwind Art's Jeanette Best Gallery in downtown Port Townsend.

In December 2023, the Big Gay Art Show will return to the Sedona Arts Center exhibition schedule. The Big Gay Art Show is a juried art show that exhibits and sells artwork in support of the LGBTQ+ community and allies. The show will run from December 6-27, 2023 at the Sedona Arts Center. Monetary awards will be given for First Place/Best of Show Award ($500), Second ($250) and Third ($150) place.

Women & Their Work (W&TW) seeks artists who create innovative, contemporary art that breaks new ground in its approach to form, content, and ideas. Selections are based on an evaluation of work samples submitted and ideas proposed; we look for a strong, consistent aesthetic vision. Recently created work in all media will be considered. We strongly encourage selected artists to create new work for their exhibition at W&TW; no work that has previously been exhibited in Austin will be accepted for exhibition. The work in the application should demonstrate that you are capable in vision and scope of creating a powerful solo exhibition that can command an approximately 1,700 square foot gallery space.

The City of Lewisville is seeking qualifications from artists who wish to create an indoor work of public art in the Lewisville Public Library. Specifically, the city seeks an artist who can create an installation piece, sculptural in nature, that would wrap around or climb a tall brick column found in the atrium of the library. This work will utilize the height of the column and surrounding space to provide a visually striking component to the library that will inspire wonder, draw the eye upward, and excite engagement.

Call for Artists: Pathways 2024: The Carlos Malamud Prize

The Rollins Museum of Art and the UCF Art Gallery invite submissions for Pathways 2024: The Carlos Malamud Prize. Pathways is a biennial, juried art competition and exhibition for emerging professional artists living in Florida. This edition will consist of a juried selection process resulting in a Summer 2024 group exhibition for the competition’s finalists. All exhibited artists will receive support and networking through a series of events and direct engagement with curators, museum and gallery professionals, faculty, and community to expand their connections in the art community. Participating artists will arrive at Pathways: The Carlos Malamud Prize from a variety of places within the state of Florida, with diverse professional experience, and have dynamic creative research and practice.

The Pathways 2024: The Carlos Malamud Prize winner will:
-Be awarded a $10,000 cash prize.
-Receive a solo exhibition at the UCF Art Gallery in Fall 2025.
-Receive a consulting session with a financial advisor to discuss the financial aspects of a sustainable art practice.
-Commit to being a juror for the following edition of the exhibition and a mentor for the next cohort of exhibiting artists.
This sustained engagement overtime makes Pathways: The Carlos Malamud Prize unique and transformative among other art competitions.

Eligibility:
The exhibition and competition is open to all emerging artists (age 18 or older) who are residents of Florida and NOT currently enrolled as an undergraduate student. We are defining an emerging artist as one who has never had a solo exhibition in a gallery, arts center, or museum (solo BFA or MFA exhibitions at a college or university are acceptable). All work must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited at any of the participating venues.

Format:
The juried exhibitions will include up to 10 artists, each of whom will have 3-5 works on view at both locations. The opening events will be staggered over the exhibition period; each venue will hold events involving the participating artists (May 29th at the Rollins Museum of Art and May 30th at the UCF Art Gallery ). Three jurors will evaluate all the entries and award the Pathways: The Carlos Malamud Prize at the opening reception at the UCF Art Gallery on May 30, 2024.

Artists will be selected by a group of locally and nationally recognized jurors from different areas of the arts field:
· Ginger Gregg Duggan, Curator and Founding Partner of curatorsquared, Florida.
· Eugene Ofori Agyei, Artist and Pathways 2022 Winner, Florida.

Submission Process:
We will use the online platform Submittable (via UCF Art Gallery’s subscription) to host an open call where artists will submit application materials and jurors can review.

-Artist Statement – A brief statement written in 1st person that describes your professional art practice, research, and conceptual motivations. (max 500 words)
-Artist Bio – A brief statement written in 3rd person that describes your background, relevant educational and professional experience, awards and honors, etc. (max 250 words)
-Current Curriculum Vitae or Résumé
-20 artworks – upload images (.jpg file at least 1200 [in one direction] pixels and 300dpi resolution) or video files (.mp4 or .mov file) of applicable and available work– exhibition will be curated by images submitted. Up to 5 uploads can be detail views of an individual artwork (be sure to note as a detail view next to the title)
Include: title, medium, dimensions (or duration for time-based work), year completed
-Please list any special equipment, tech, or installation requirements
If submitting a site-specific installation, please include a schematic drawing as one of your images and describe how you would incorporate a specific space into your work)

Artworks are accepted without restriction of medium but must communicate visually, be ready to hang/install, and must fit through standard doorways.
Artwork cannot include biohazard materials, water, fire, or animals (dead or alive).

Image Release: By submitting an entry form to the Pathways: Carlos Malamud Prize constitutes an agreement on the part of the artists to grant permission for the Carlos Malamud Prize organizers to use images for promotional purposes (printed materials, website, social media) if selected for the exhibition.

Finalists:
Finalists will be notified the week of December 18, 2023. Participating artists will receive a modest all-inclusive honorarium to support the cost for delivering/shipping artwork and attending the public events.

This fellowship will grant two visual artists $20,000 each, individual studio space, professional development consultations, and close mentorship from Museum staff members working toward the artists’ projects. Concentration, refreshment and renewal:
The former Meltola sanitarium, with its beautiful premises, has undergone a transformation into an inspiring community center. Hub Feenix offers a harmonious, beautiful and inspiring working environment. Here you experience the stillness and beauty of nature and the possibility to deeply concentrate on your work, but in the same time you can also enjoy meeting new wonderful people. The residency has wide opportunities for collaboration and learning new skills. Hub Feenix is full of spaces where the senses delight and the spirit is lifted. Therefore, the residency period at Hub Feenix can be both artistically productive and at the same time bring new vitality, inspiration and recreation.
The artists stay in 15m2 private bedrooms and share the kitchen, bathroom and shower facilities. In addition, the building has several inviting and inspiring shared spaces, lounges and a co-working space. We have a limited amount of bedrooms with an own toilet. If you would like one, the extra cost is 50€/a month. Please mention this in your application.

TERAVARNA announces their online Animal Art Competition. Cash prizes of $3,500 for First, Runner-Up, Merit, and Talent Prize winners. Certificates of Recognition will be given to all, including Honorable Mention and Finalist awards. For this theme, feel free to represent any animal, from the teeny-tiny insects to the massive blue whales, and even fictional, mythological, or imagined creatures. Representational and abstract ideas based broadly on the theme, in any media, will be considered: painting, sculpture, digital, printmaking, fiber, photography, graphic, mixed media, installation. There is no theme, but if you’re new to ZONE it sure would be usefull to check our previous online and print publications to have a taste of our character. We’re basically open to anything along the lines of our MANIFESTO.

More than ‘the powerful stand alone’, we’re interested in what a group of images can reveal when they find each other in a certain way. This is why we like starting from the broadest group of images in order to arrive to another layer of meaning of the whole by carefully listening to them.

ATTENTION: Step 1 and Step 2 are important for archiving the contacts of each author. The specifications are mandatory under penalty of exclusion.

Although we are photography based, our new call is open worldwide to all types of visual artists (photographers, painters, illustrators, sculptors etc.) with no restrictions in terms of age, approach… You can send images from a specific project but note that they will still be considered individually.

The Loveland Public Library has a gorgeous, sweeping Galleria entrance lined by five dramatic display cases. The library Art Selection Committee seeks art (submitted August-October of 2023) for the quarterly 2024 shows in those display cases. The Galleria program introduces artists to our community, displays their work to advantage, provides them with the opportunity for sales, and adds to their juried exhibition credits. Artists must reside in Colorado. Art will be juried in part on its suitability for the distinctive display spaces. See library website for current art on display in the Galleria. Each vitrine display space has three glass sides and a walnut back side. Dimensions of the vitrines are 69” H x 21” W x 19” D. During each of the last 22 quarters, at least one piece of art was purchased. Additionally, a $100 cash prize, donated by a patron, for Best Exhibited Work will be awarded at the end of the calendar year.

Land Line supports visual artists creating works that foster appreciation, understanding, and stewardship of the natural world. Supported by curators, scientists, and other staff from Denver Botanic Gardens, Land Line artists have access to the Gardens’ resources and collections to support their particular project, including living collections, fungi and vascular plant herbaria, art collections, or the School of Botanical Art & Illustration. Artists receive a $3,500 honorarium and the flexible, low-residency format allows artists to maintain other professional pursuits during their residency. Artists working in any 2D or 3D visual art medium will be considered. Denver Botanic Gardens aims to support and strengthen diverse perspectives; people in the LGBTQ community and from various racial and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Isla de Crear is a creative centre, combining a range of different disciplines in order to explore creating and crafting in a new method, away from commercial constraints or industry guidelines, based on the principles of the Fantasism manifesto. We are open to people of all ages and backgrounds, and only ask that you have a keen interest in pro-actively seeking the strange and unique connections, through interdisciplinary and international collaboration.

We are purposefully keeping the theme as broad as possible, and encourage you to think as tangentially as possible. We are not looking for the same ol’ works, but instead want to encourage all our visiting creatives to challenge themselves into doing new things and exploring new forms.

We are particularly interested in people who wish to work with found objects and repurpose them, as our junk yard is full of materials, but we are open to all forms of creations: visual, performative, audible, theoretical, scholarly, written, etc.

In 1999, Wildacres Retreat opened our residency program for artists. Since that time, we have had the opportunity to host hundreds of writers, artisans, and musicians. Participants in the program stay in one of three self-catering cabins located just a quarter-mile beyond the retreat entrance. One of the cabins is completely ADA compliant and another can house two residents working on a project together.
Using the space provided by the three cabins, Wildacres hosts approximately seventy artists each year for one-week residencies from April through October. Residencies begin on Monday afternoons and run until Sunday mornings. While there are landlines at each residency cabin, there is no internet access in the cabins, and cellphones do not typically connect except in the main part of the retreat where we do have WiFi access. The residency program allows artists the solitude and inspiration needed to begin or continue work on a project in their particular field of creative arts. Past residents tell us that being able to work in such a secluded, natural setting provides them with an unparalleled opportunity to step away from outside distractions and completely focus on their work.

Art Omi: Artists invites artists from around the world, representing a wide diversity of artistic styles and practices, to gather in rural New York to experiment, collaborate and share ideas. Concentrated time for creative work is balanced with the stimulation of cultural exchange and critical appraisal.
Art Omi: Artists nurtures deep creative and professional connections in a vibrant, social residency. Artists are provided with a private studio, shared living quarters, and meals at no cost, but are responsible for their travel and material expenses, unless they are eligible for travel grants as specified in our fellowships guidelines. Each session, two critics/curators are invited to participate as Critics-in-Residence. They both lead discussions, help shape the Visitors program and make individual studio visits throughout the duration of the residency session.
