49th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival

What: The Park City Kimball Arts Festival is an award-winning jury selected visual arts festival, drawing more than 50,000 art enthusiasts for a celebration of art, cuisine, and music.

Who: U.S. artists working in these 12 fields: Ceramics, Drawing, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metalwork, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Wood

Application Deadline: March 1

Exhibition Dates: Friday, August 3 – Sunday, August 5, 2018

Act 2: Art as a Career Sequel

What: This exhibition at the Peters Valley School of Craft’s Sally D. Francisco Gallery celebrates the determination and passion of those who have pursued an artistic path after initially choosing another career or field of study.  

Who: Artists working in 2- and 3-dimensional work (including but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, collage, paper, encaustic, ceramic, wood, metal, jewelry, glass, textiles, fiber art, mixed media, functional or sculptural)

2018 New Hope Art League Juried Show

What: A juried show at The Conservatory juried by Lisa Tremper Hanover, former CEO of the Michener Museum, and James Toogood, renowned watercolorist and PAFA teacher.

Who: Artists 18 years of age and older creating paintings, works on paper, mixed media, photography, digital art and sculpture.

Application Deadline: March 1, by 6:00 PM EST

Exhibition Dates: April 6 - 20, 2018

Opening Reception: April 6

Location: Doylestown, PA

Fee: $25 for members, $40 for non-members for 2 entries

STARTS Prize 2018 Open Call

What: On behalf of the European Commission, Ars Electronica in collaboration with BOZAR and Waag Society is issuing an open call for entries to a competition that will determine the third recipients of STARTS Prize.

Who: Artists around the world creating all forms of artistic works and practices with a strong link to innovation in technology, science, business and/or society.

Application Deadline: March 2, 11:59 PM CET

Exhibition Dates: September 6 - 10, 13 - 29, 2018

Location: Linz, Austria

Fee: None

“Working for a Living” Online Juried Exhibition

What: Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) seeks work for a juried exhibition that captures any aspect of what “work” means to artists. Most of all, MFA seeks images of the emotional impact of work, in every possible way, on the worker.

Who: Artists worldwide in any medium.

Application Deadline: March 2

Exhibition Dates: April 15 – May 31, 2018

Location: Annapolis, MD

Fee: $35 (MFA members, $20) for up to two entries, $5 each for up to four additional entries.

Art Space Artist-in-Residence Opportunity

What: A year-long Artist-in-Residence program hosted by Artspace. Artists will have 24/7 access to a small private studio and be invited to partake in all opportunities offered to artists through Artspace. The residency will culminate in a solo exhibition.

Who: Emerging and mid-career artists from all fields.

Application Deadline: March 5

Residency Dates: August 2018 - July 2019

Art Call for Exhibit ”Inspired By Nature 2018″

What: Twenty artists will be selected for an online group exhibit at Gallery25N that will be marketed extensively worldwide. All submitted works for this exhibition must reflect or present nature as a source of inspiration, whether it is a simple object of nature or a world vista.

Who: Participants must be 18 years of age or older working in any still medium, drawing, photography, painting, sculpture, digital art, collage.

Application Deadline: March 5

Exhibition Start Date: April 5, 2018

Location: Cocoa, FL

Fee: $25 for up to 3 entries, $5 for each additional image

Fine Print: Judges are looking for the following criteria: vision or concept, quality of execution in the medium, and the use of the composition to communicate their message. “Making Strange” International Juried Photo Exhibition

What: Praxis Gallery seeks the submission of photographic works that search for the iconic and ironic in the everyday world around us; that portray the people, places, and things which have become ordinary to us in new, imaginative and expressive ways.

Who: Photographers worldwide. All genres interpretations, capture types, color and black & white, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission.

57th Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition

What: Every year, 115,000 loyal visitors look forward to discovering and buying artwork directly from the hands of the artists, at this free, public art fair in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Who: Visual artists and makers working in all mediums.

Fair Dates: July 6 - 8, 2018

James Castle House Artist-in-Residence

What: The City of Boise and its Department of Arts and History invite artists to apply for the Artist-in-Residence program at the historic James Castle House in Boise’s Collister Neighborhood.

Who: Emerging and mid-career visual, literary, musical and performing artists from the U.S over age 18.

Application Deadline: March 7

2018 Summer Residency: May 15 – August 14

2019 Winter Residency: January 3 – April 4

Location: Boise, ID

New Photography: Inaugural National Juried Exhibition

What: A new national juried show at the Academy Art Museum which aims to highlight the current state of photography across a broad spectrum.

Who: U.S. artists may submit all types of photographic works including digital, analog, alternative processes, etc.

Application Deadline: March 8

Exhibition Dates: April 14 - July 15, 2018

Opening Reception: April 28, 2018

Location: Easton, MD

Fee: $25 for up to 5 images

Picture It: Photography Figurative Show

What: A call for portrait photography capturing the characters and personalities of the people around us hosted by Blue Line Arts.

Who: All photographers over 18 years of age

Application Deadline: March 8

Exhibition Dates: April 13 – June 2, 2018

Opening Reception: April 21

Location: Roseville, CA

Fee: $35 fee for non-members, members are free

50th Annual Cadillac Festival of the Arts – Phyllis Olson Art Fair

What: A two-day festival that includes more than 100 artists’ booths, live music, local food, and more.

Who: Artists working in clay, digital art, drawing, painting, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metals, mixed media, collage, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood, etc.

Application Deadline: March 9

Festival Dates: July 20-21, 2018

Location: Cadillac, MI

Fee: $25 for 4 images of the same medium, $10 for each additional medium category

Artwork Northwest 2018

What: Artworks Northwest is a regional juried art show of work by artists from the Pacific Northwest.

Who: Artists working in all media living in the Pacific Northwest (which includes Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, British Columbia, Western Montana, and Western Wyoming)

Application Deadline: March 9

Exhibition Dates: May 5 – June 24, 2018

Opening Reception: May 4

Location: Roseburg, OR

Fee: $30 for non-members ($20 for members) for 1–5 entries

Fine Print: Fine art prints (including c-prints, digital prints, etchings, lithographs, woodblock, etc.) are eligible, but must be signed, numbered and in a limited edition of 125 or less. Learn more here.

 

Call for Art: 7th Annual Square Foot Show

What: This unique event brings artists of all abilities together in one space to showcase their 12”x12” artwork. This open-call exhibition is non-juried and free to participate in. Last year’s event featured over 130 works of art from across the globe.

Who: Artists of all skill levels and ages working in all mediums.

Application Deadline: March 12

Exhibition Dates: March 23 - May 18, 2018

Location: Glenview, IL

The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition

What: Since 1985, this competition has provided artists from all over the world a unique opportunity to present their art to an international audience in New York City’s famed Chelsea art district. With a distinguished panel of jurors and more than $70,000 in prizes, the 2018 Chelsea International Fine Art Competition is an event not to be missed.

Who: Visual artists from around the world at any stage of their careers. Artists are invited to submit in any of the following mediums: painting, sculpture, photography, drawing, mixed media, and print.

“The Portrait” Juried Show

What: A Different Path Gallery, located in Brockport, New York is pleased to announce an opportunity for artists of all age groups, styles, and mediums to exhibit their work that features the theme “The Portrait.”

What: An annual juried competition hosted by SouthWest Artists, Inc. for 2-dimensional art with a maximum of 18 inches in any direction, including frame.

Who: International artists 18 years of age and older

Application Deadline: March 15

Exhibition Dates: May 2 – 26, 2018

Location: Mena, AR

Fee: $20 per entry, $15 for each additional entry

60th Haggin Museum Juried Exhibition

What: A juried exhibition at the Haggin Museum sponsored by the Stockton Art League.

Who: Artists residing in the U.S.

Application Deadline: March 16

Exhibition Dates: May 17 – July 15, 2018

Opening Reception: May 17

Location: Stockton, CA

Fee: $25 for one entry, $20 each additional entry up to 5 entries

Fine Print: Qualifying media for two-dimensional works include: acrylic, oil, watercolor, gouache, casein, mixed media, encaustic, pastel, pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, batik, scratchboard, hand-pulled prints (e.g., lithograph, etching, engraving, and serigraph). 68th Annual National Exhibition of Traditional Realism

What: A national exhibition of traditional realism hosted by the Academic Artists Association.

Who: Artists living in the U.S. working in a representational manner in the categories of Oils, Watercolors, Graphics, Pastels and Sculpture.

Application Deadline: March 17

Exhibition Dates: May 9 – 25, 2018

Opening Reception: May 6

Location: Vernon, CT

Fee: $45 for 1 entry

"Dream" National Juried Exhibition

What: Arc Gallery is seeking works that address the broad spectrum of dreams, from abstraction to narrative to surrealism.

Who: Artists residing in the U.S. working in sculpture, painting, drawing, photo, printmaking, ceramics, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art, or glass art.

Application Deadline: March 19

Exhibition Dates: May 26 – June 16, 2018

Opening Reception: May 26

Location: San Francisco, CA

Fee: $35 per entry

“The Edge of Excess II” Juried Exhibition

What: A juried exhibition hosted by the Foundry Art Centre that invites artists to display their own interpretation of the concept “obsession.”

Who: Open to all artists 18 years & older, worldwide, both amateur & professional, working in all styles & schools of thought.

VisArts Studio Fellowship

What: This six month Studio Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual artist or collaborative artist team to create a new body of work, evolve an existing body of work, or develop a project in a stimulating, supportive environment.

Who: Artists worldwide over age 18

Application Deadline: March 20

Fellowship Dates: June 7 – December 5, 2018 or December 10, 2018 – June 5, 2019

Location: Rockville, MD

Fee: $15

Fine Print: Studio space is provided free of charge. Artists receive a $500.00 per month stipend. The VisArts Studio Fellows will present their work in solo exhibitions at the end of their respective fellowships. Learn more here.


 

“Secret Gardens” Exhibition

What: The Nave Gallery seeks submissions using botanical imagery for its upcoming show, Secret Gardens. This show will open the weekend of Somerville Open Studios, one of the Boston area’s largest open studios event.

Who: Artists working in all mediums

Application Deadline: March 24

Exhibition Dates: May 4, - June 17, 2018

Opening Reception: May 19

Location: Somerville, MA

Fee: $15

Fine Print: Work submitted to Secret Gardens can range from technically accurate botanical art to interpretations of what could lie in a secret garden. What: Kehler Liddell Gallery invites artists to submit works that: represent fierce expressions of beauty; offer an understanding of our shared humanity; create a profoundly needed respite or refuge. In short, works that show beauty and love as a form of resistance.

Who: Artists working in all mediums (visual, auditory, tactile, etc.)

What: Main Street Arts invites artists to submit to “Land and Sea,” a national juried exhibition of landscapes and seascapes. Open to interpretation.

Who: U.S. artists age 18 and older working in all media

Application Deadline: March 25

Exhibition Dates: May 26–June 29, 2018

Location: Clifton Springs, NY

Fee: $30 for 1 to 3 entries, $35 for 4 to 6 entries

NARS Exhibitions – Call for Proposal 2018-19

What: NARS is pleased to invite exhibition proposals for solo and group curated exhibitions. Exhibition proposals from both artists and curators will be considered for solo or group exhibitions for their main gallery space and the project space, designed for smaller and more dynamic programming.

Who: All artists and curators regardless of age, gender, and nationality. Artists who are or will be enrolled in a college or university art degree-granting program are not eligible to apply.

Application Deadline: March 26

Exhibition Dates: TBD. Shows will run 3 - 6 weeks.

Artist Creation Grant

What: The Artist Creation Grant is a bi-monthly art award intended to help fuel the creativity of artists and help give artist the funding needed to support the ongoing art making process.

Who: Artists worldwide, working in all traditional and new visual arts mediums

Application Deadline: March 31

Location: Detroit, MI

Fee: $35 for 5 images, or $50 for 10 images

Fine Print: Selected winners will receive $1000 in exchange for a piece of work to go into the gallery's collection. At the end of the year the five 2018 Winners will be rejuried by a panel, and one artist will be selected to receive an additional $5000, and offered a Solo Show in the 2019 Season. 26th Emerald Coast Juried Fine Arts Exhibition

What: An exhibition juried by Dennis Harper, MFA, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art.

Who: Open to artists 18 years of age and older, living in the United States. All forms of art including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, digital art, sculpture, and ceramics are accepted.

Application Deadline: March 31

Exhibition Dates: May 19 – June 22, 2018

Opening Reception: May 19

Location: Niceville, FL

Fee: $35 for up to 3 pieces

Fine Print: Work must have been completed after January 1, 2016. A minimum of $3000 in prizes will be awarded, with first place garnering $1000 and the opportunity for a solo exhibition. Learn more here.

 

Plein Air Juried Competition, Paint the Peninsula

What: Paint the Peninsula is a juried plein air competition beginning its sixth year held in near Olympic National Park. A total of 24 artist slots to paint throughout the event will be filled through jury selection.

Who: Plein air painters from the U.S. and Canada

Application Deadline: March 31

Competition Dates: August 18 – 26, 2018

Location: Port Angeles, WA

Fee: $40 for 3 images

Hudson Valley Art Association 85th Annual National Juried Exhibition

What: An annual exhibition of oils, aqua media, pastels, graphics and sculpture hosted by the Hudson Valley Art Association (HVAA) which was founded in 1928 by artists of the Hudson Valley Region.

Who: Open to all artists 18 years of age and over, working in the United States.

Application Deadline: March 31

Exhibition Dates: June 15 - August 3, 2018

Opening Reception: June 23

Location: Carmel, NY

Fee: $45
