There is a series of 4 covered bridges in Northfield Vermont within a very short stretch of river. Three are within a short walk from each other, and the fourth is less than a mile up the road. This one, the Upper Cox Brook Covered Bridge, is the most accessible for views to paint. It is unusual in that its sides open up almost the entire length of the bridge to allow air flow. With the sides not rising all the way to the roof this bridge presents a very open and airy feel not as common in other covered bridges. Which also presents nicely for painting, adding an additional element and showing more of the bridge structure.
