Fields and Lace, with the "Lace" being a reference to Queen Annes Lace, is a view of a typical scene all over Vermont. While many farms, primarily dairy, have gone out of business over the past couple decades, these open fields, providing hay for the cows, still define the landscape. The very character of Vermont is associated with open fields and farms, cows dotting the hills, covered bridges, barns and small towns centered around white steepled churches. One wonders when this may no longer be true. I hope it always stays this way.
