The Tinker Farm is an iconic farm in East Fletcher Vermont, a favorite of photographers. I caught this farm on both a sunrise and a sunset this past winter. This is the painting as the sun sets to the west. I was struck by the strong contrast of colors, the vibrant red of the barns, deeps blue in the sky and snow.

The typical view is looking southeastward with Mount Mansfield in the background, and that is a view worthy of painting one day. But for my paintings I am choosing to focus on the farm barn. The farm no longer supports a heard of cows, and hopefully the fields will continue to provide hay and the buildings maintained. Too many of these farms are disappearing.
