Nichols Ledge is now of those out-of-the-way places you have to hear about and then dig to find. But boy is it worth it. This ledge in Cabot Vermont is a short but steep hike at the end of a long, not well maintained dirt road. Hiking through the forest you suddenly find yourself at the edge of a ledge high above Nichols Pond with a magnificent view. Long a favorite with photographers, especially during foliage season, I painted this view for a show called "Vantages" at the Bryan Gallery.
