The Lamoille River, a favorite in many of my paintings, offers boundless views and opportunities. In this painting it serves as a vehicle to move your eye from the primary focal point, the autumn tree in the foreground, into and past the fields, on to the trees and hills behind. Warm colors somewhat muted are meant to capture the sense of late afternoon heat of an "Indian Summer." Hmmmm, great name for a future painting!
