Summer fields in July take on a subtle variation of colors as the threes, mountains, fields and vegetation start to settle from their spring colors, but not yet change into Fall clothing. I think this subtle color harmony contributes to the sense of heat. The shadows seem less cool, and the highlights get lost more in the overall color scheme. It can be hard to paint a summer day in Vermont with all the greens but rewarding too, when you manage to capture that sense of long days in the hot sun.
