I love when I set out to capture a specific image and in the process run into scenes I had not planned on but that spark my creativity and capture my imagination.
One day this past autumn while photographing autumn color on a distant Mount Mansfield I was walking along the edge of a field and the light was streaming into the woods. The light on the ferns and sides of the trees was beautiful and I knew immediately there would be at least one painting created from those moments. A day later or a day earlier and the colors, the light, the scene would have been different, and perhaps not interesting at all.
The interesting light and color is further complimented by the many textures in this piece. Simplifying it all into an interesting painting was the challenge in this small piece.
