“This painting is based on photos I took of cows in a green pasture. Originally the river came all the way to the bottom of the painting, but something didn’t feel right about the painting. The painting needed to support the oasis as the focal area. So, I painted a visual path of grasses and flowers drawing your eye in, and now this is one of my strongest paintings. It has big bold marks in the front, thick paint on the river, and delicate paint on the big tree and cows.”
