From my working cattle ranch in western South Dakota, it is my desire to celebrate the beauty of our landscape and those who care for it through the lens of my camera.”

Cristen Roghair was born in Indiana, raised in Illinois and Wisconsin, and graduated from Jones County High School in Murdo, SD. Though mainly self-taught, she spent four years working and learning darkroom photography at the College of Lake County, IL. Cristen works alongside her husband, Marty, ranching in South Dakota’s western prairie. Through photographing this landscape, Cristen has discovered fathomless depths in shadows, penetrating brilliance in the sky, and profound beauty in the wide-open spaces of these Great Plains
