High Plains Evening by Denise Du Broy Image: “This piece is from my ongoing series of oil paintings inspired by the grasslands
and prairie skies of western South Dakota. When my husband and I first moved to this state in 1993, we bought and operated a buffalo ranch for 14 years. I connected immediately to the land through daily walks near the northern boundary of Wind Cave National Park, which was contiguous with our ranch. It was this ranching lifestyle that most strongly influenced my abstracted, visionary landscapes.”
