“I usually base my paintings upon real settings and from memory of places I have either lived or spent time. Color has become a more important feature to me over time. I often start with smaller plein air watercolors and progress up to larger acrylic pieces. This painting is from a series titled ‘Not a Map’. The series is based more on what I think should be shown rather than the reality of a map.”
