My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageA toy arcade claw, built to reward chance and temptation, grips a chaotic pile of $100 bills bearing Donald Trump's portrait. The familiar game becomes a metaphor for public office transformed into private gain. Referencing recent reporting on Trump's profits while in office, the work questions where governance ends and personal enrichment begins. Suspended above the money, the claw suggests a system designed not to serve the public, but to seize opportunity, exposing the uneasy intersection of political power, wealth, and accountability.
The work gains urgency in light of recent reporting detailing the extraordinary profits Trump and his family have realized while he has been in office, which should prompt serious debate over ethics, conflicts of interest, and the commercialization of the presidency.
