My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageThis work stages policy as ornament. A floral, domestic backdrop and gilt frame soften the violence embedded in The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, whose cheerful title masks a 37 percent top tax rate engineered to favor the wealthy, shield vast inheritances, and reward high-income households. The decorative presentation echoes how austerity is sold as normalcy while medical care, food access, education, and green energy are gutted. By embedding these consequences within a quaint, archival aesthetic, the piece exposes how economic harm is bureaucratized, prettified, and rendered distant—while adding $2.8 trillion to the deficit and hollowing out the social commons.
