After visiting Kenya in 2011, I found myself inspired by the stunning colors and intricate patterns of African fabric, as well as the unique materials that characterize their art. The artwork on the banana leaves sparked my creativity, leading me to make this unique wall hanging. The piece combines commercial cotton, beading, decorative twine appliqué, unique fabric piecing, banana leaf panels, and free motion quilting techniques.
