"Earthpod III - Singing Bowl" explores the element of earth at the beginning of time. Biomorphic designs hint at the early stages of evolution. Earth is still a dream.
The brass gilding in this piece is an alloy that will age over many years. The effect is intentional to reflect the natural cycles of nature.
This piece is also a "Singing Bowl," created from a specialty heirloom gourd selected for its thick shell and oval shape. Singing, humming or vocal toning into the opening creates meditative soundscapes, particularly interesting for working with harmonic overtones.
"Reminiscent of some petroglyphs of the Andes, with the gilding tying it to their metalwork. Great piece."
