ECO-SCULPTURE
This series is part of an interdisciplinary exploration of history and humanity through the 70+ plants Serena Kovalosky has discovered in her own backyard. Historical and scientific research into each of these botanical discoveries provides a foundation for the artwork created from the foraged parts of each plant. This work explores pathways towards peaceful coexistance between humans as well as human/nature relationships by presenting these challenges through the lens of plants.

GOURDWORK: Earth & Fire/Rivers & Dreams
Earth and Fire. Rivers and Dreams. Serena Kovalosky's sculptural work is rooted in the organic form with an ecological ethos that explores how the natural world can inform our comprehension of the inter-relatedness of all things.
Themes of impermanence, aging, relationships and (bio)diversity are contemplated through the elements of earth, fire, and water. A deeper dive into the essence of the natural world is explored through the realms of dreams and visions.

DIGITAL PRINTS: Nature Reimagined
Serena Kovalosky is well-known for her sculptural work that embraces the organic form and natural materials. This new collection of technology-driven work reimagines nature through digital experimentation.
"This body of work is an extension of my sculptural foundation. Subtle earthtones give way to bold colors and the physicality of carving is replaced by image manipulation on a computer screen. This allows me to take an even deeper dive into my subjects, bringing out their "essence" in surprising ways and offering new insights into nature." - SerenaK
