Finding a new interest in using Sumi-e brushes and combining it with my own stylized drawing inspired by comics, manga, and anime, I made this portrait of a girl with a birthmark on her face. Growing up, there wasn’t much in the way of representation for kids who, like me, had a vascular birthmark on their face. This is one of the things I hope to correct with my artwork. Girl with a Birthmark is but one of many attempts I will make to increase representation beyond just simply being an artist with a vascular birthmark on his face.
