This still-life, blind-contour drawing highlights not only my technical drawing skills but also my observational ones and ability to adapt to problems and create creative solutions. The flowers were easy enough to observe and capture as anything else. However, the transparent, green, and glossy glass was more difficult to observe and capture. Instead of capturing the glass as I struggled to see it, I opted to do as the impressionists and modernists did and observe and capture the light and shadows instead. This resulted in the glass feeling much more fluid and a better rendering of the Coca-Cola wordmark than had I tried to draw from observing the object.
