This is an archival print of a colored pencil drawing of mayapple plants--ground cover in our woods surrounding our home. To see the blooms, one has to get on the ground and look up underneath the umbrella-like leaves. I always imagined a child seeing these blooms and envisioning them as a fairy garden, fantasy forest. The artwork won an award in an invitational show, "America's Parks" and was reproduced along with many of my drawings in a university botany textbook, "Biology of Plants" by Peter Raven, Ray Evert and Susan Eichhorn. Print has cream matte/oak frame.
