When my husband and I were visiting Washington Island, WI, years ago, to entertain ourselves we visited a realtor and asked to see properties for sale. When we ventured off a back road to walk on one property, sun's rays came shining down on the land, covered with yellow lady slippers, and (I kid you not) a deer delicately leaped across the scene. All that was needed was the camera crew from Walt Disney. It was magical. We loved the property, bought it, and after taking many, many photographs of different slippers, I made a composite and this became my reference for this painting. I entitled the work, "This Slipper Fits" because the outcome was so like Cinderella's dream coming true when her slipper fit. The archival print of the acrylic painting on canvas is framed with a cream matte, a rust-colored fillet, and a cherry frame.
