Created by Susan Wagner, this bronze relief of the Statue of Liberty sits on a marble pedestal. Highlighting the spirit of friendship, freedom, and liberty the work was manufactured by the Pittsburgh company Matthews International Corporation in 2001.
This piece is large and stands in a portrait orientation. The Statue of Liberty is positioned slightly left of center in relief. The words “From her beacon-hand glows worldwide welcome” are displayed in the top right corner, with the words “Pittsburgh International Airport” on the right-hand side as well, positioned by the hips of the Statue of Liberty. The work is entirely a bronze color.
