This statue of George Washington was created by The Senator John Heinz History Center in 2006. George Washington was the first president of the United States, famously came to Western Pennsylvania many times, and fought in the region during the French and Indian War.
George Washington is shown standing upright, with his left leg forward and his right hand on his chest. His left arm is behind his back, and he is looking forward. Washington is wearing a traditional red British military uniform from the time.
