Calaquita. Full-face mask used in performances by Childsplay theater company in Tempe, Arizona.. It has a silver gem encircled in orange at the center of the forehead, surrounded by yellow and green dots above and below. It has an orange and blue swirl pattern on the forehead, light green circles around the eyes, a pale purple nose, cheeks with red gems, orange and purple v-shaped swirls, teeth edged in pink, and a chin with a light green gem, and an orange and blue swirl pattern matching the forehead.
It is made of plaster bandage and paper clay, painted with acrylic paints and ribbon, which ties the mask to the performer.
These masks are part of the Performance Collection, which contains pieces available for loan to use in community and artistic performances.
