My latest series (Memento Mori) of botanicals grow from the subjects of Dutch still-life painter, Rachel Ruysch (3 June 1664 – 12 October 1750) who imbedded messages of the fleeting nature of life in her florals. I reimagine the blooms (which would not grow in the same season), the short-lived moths and dying leaves as ethereal and in motion.
