Entangled Orbits is carved from two separate blocks of basalt, each meticulously shaped into a continuous loop. The two forms lean and intersect without physical connection, held together by balance and proximity. Their composition suggests celestial mechanics, where bodies are bound by gravitational pull yet remain in constant motion. The dense volcanic rock, polished to a deep matte, absorbs light, amplifying its sculptural weight. Holt’s work often plays with the meeting point of geological permanence and cosmic movement, creating objects that seem to both anchor and drift. The interplay of form and void invites viewers to consider unseen forces—gravity, time, and the delicate thresholds between autonomy and connection.
