I'm interested in the moments where control gives way to instinct. A simple sketch provides the starting point, but it's the layering, scraping and reworking that shapes the finished painting.

Estuary Almanac grew into an aerial landscape of waterways, fields and shifting edges. Rather than representing a real location, it captures the feeling of places remembered, inviting the viewer to discover their own sense of place.
