A lone figure moves slowly across the St Kilda footbridge, framed by dusk light, curved railings and the quiet geometry of the bridge. Unlike the brighter works in Geoff Cunningham’s Summer Lovin’ series, 'The Long Way Round' sits in a more reflective space — less about childhood nostalgia, more about passing through a familiar place at the edge of the day.
Painted using hand-cut stencils, aerosol and acrylic, the work captures a small, ordinary moment and gives it a sense of stillness and distance. The figure remains deliberately ambiguous, allowing the bridge, light and movement to carry the emotion of the scene.
Framed in oak and ready to hang.
