Market Street is one of my favorite places to paint in San Francisco. There is something quintessential about the tracks in the street, the buses and old rail system that runs up and down it, and the classic lights that line the street. Looking down Market St. towards the water is the iconic ferry building. It had just rained this evening, but the cloud cover was low. At sunset, it created a dramatic color shift that turned the sky orange, silhouetting the ferry building and bringing out the color of the street lights.
