I am fortunate to be part of a group of artists who come together to paint landscapes. This morning was wet and overcast—the kind of weekend morning when you want to stay home, sipping tea in your cozy slippers. However, I packed my bags and headed out since no active rain was forecasted.
The location chosen for this painting is not typically a spot for a leisurely stroll, but I enjoyed painting there. I used looser, impressionistic brushstrokes to convey energy in an otherwise calm scene. I was captivated by how the water had saturated the wet sand, leaving puddles in the car tracks. The warm colors of the vegetation looked beautiful against the cool gray sky. You can see Mt. Tamalpais peeking through the fog in the far distance.
The painting can be purchased framed or unframed. The framed version features a flat black contemporary frame with an inner gold lip. It is wired on the back and ready for hanging.
