Paintings speak. Sometimes it is a mixed message, gibberish, or rude, to which in this case the artist becomes a peacemaker. I had a simple plan for this painting before I began creating, however that plan was not sufficient for the moment. I “finished” this painting at least a dozen times, but the artwork would not let me walk away. I call it Vocal Blues because it’s blue and would not shut up complaining about what I missed or hadn’t done. It did not go to plan. It seemed to want to be lifted out of the blues. I analyzed, adjusted, added, and subtracted color manipulating the artwork's projected message. When the painting quit complaining, I quit painting. It's one of my favorites.
