Legacy is what we leave behind. Not only in terms of values, but also in terms of ideal values, humanity, and how we treat our environment.
We live in a time when societies are drifting apart, when division and populism are on the rise. The resulting problems and crises are pushing environmental issues and climate change into the background. The overall global political situation is worrying many of us, myself included.
For the series “SOW WHAT?” I work in a resource-saving way with canvas scraps and other leftovers, materials that would otherwise have been thrown away. From these, new small works emerge: a little crazy, a little absurd, and absolutely unique.
Many of them feature blossoms or blossom-like forms, symbolizing what our legacy should be, what we should sow: love instead of hate and envy, joy instead of frustration, lightness instead of burden. For a future that needs peace and blossoms more than burning grounds.
Even though I can't offer a solution, I can still hope that many small gestures can have an impact.
